Day 2 Of My Surgery

The plastic surgery on Tuesday was pretty complicated, and right now I feel very much like the Bride of Frankenstein.

The area to cover was about the size of a quarter, so they had to use a grafting process I was not familiar with.

They took tissue from the forehead, and turned it and covered the nose. So, there is a little flap at the bridge of my nose for now. I have about a dozen or so little stitches on my forehead and then, or course the graft.

But, I tell myself that the cancer is gone and I am a lucky girl!

Here is a little funny thing. As I was being wheeled in to surgery, I must have fallen asleep, as I remember nothing of actually going into the surgical suite. I also remember nothing until I came to in recovery.

Recovery will be long, but I’m prepared. I’m putting in a small photo, but if you want to see details click on it and it should take you right to it.

  1. I would have loved to see your poor little face a bit bigger but it doesn’t work for me I don’t have a Flickr account. I am happy for you that it’s over your cancer gone and you will see your nose will become perfect too ! Just a little patience !

  2. The miracles of modern science! Happy the Cancer is all gone and now you are on your way to health and healing! Lots of prayers for a perfect recovery. Love YOU, Mel

  3. A pre-operatiive drug named Versed is usually used and it causes amnesia. So = no memories. Happy to hear you are doing well. Love you.

  4. I’m glad everything went well and you’re on the recovery side now. And no cancer so whoohoo!! Take care and just rest and recover…modern medicine is an amazing thing!

  5. Well girlfriend, we have been through a lot together so we know, this too shall pass. The most Important thing is that you have this behind you and you are on your way back to health! In Delaware there was this guy named Ceasar Rodney. He was a lawyer from the Dover area. He was the guy who rode the signed declaration on Independence back to Philadelphia making our state, the ” First State”. While riding Delaware into history, Ceasar had skin cancer. They say that’s why he rode on a horse drawn carriage rather than straight horseback like Paul Revere. Just an interesting factoid for your enjoyment. I love you and am praying for you to recover quickly.
