Spring Comes To New Hampshire

Here I am, 8:15 PM on Monday night and it is still 70 degrees (f). Spring definitely has sprung!  In fact, Hubby was out today putting his first spray on the fruit trees to protect them against fungus’.

Many of you may not realize this, but Hubby went to school and took extensive tests to get his pesticide permit license. He sprays up until so many weeks before harvesting, which gives him the right to say that the fruit is organic. He also does not use the really strong sprays that the commercial growers use.

Our fruit is wonderful. My favorite are the peaches, with which I make Heavenly Jam!

And Concord Grapes, that I make out of Grape Jelly!

So now, Spring is in the air and soon the trees will blossom. This is probably my favorite time of year!!!

  1. I love homemade peach jam! How lucky you are to have your own peaches. I may pick some this year. I have a good recipe for peach honey, which is a little different than jam, but equally delicious. Enjoy your spring treats!

  2. There is nothing as lovely as spring!! When it comes after a long, cold, snowy winter it is even more wonderful! Love YOU, Mel

  3. Spring has long been my favorite time of year. Other extoll the beauty of fall and its colors. I, however, love the multitude of color in spring when trees leaf out, flowers spring forth from the soil and show off their colors signaling a time of re-birth. Just a glorious time of hear in which to celebrate life. Love you, Carol
