Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. Create an acrostic using the word LOVE. If you’re unsure what an acrostic is click here.

Love is in my heart

For all that I hold dear

All who know me will agree

Family means the world to me.

2. Does love really conquer all? Why or why not?

Now that is a slippery slope, Joyce. Normally I would say yes, but having gone through a very traumatic time, which led to my divorce I would be a hypocrite if I said yes. Still I do believe in love and it’s ability to get you through the most difficult of times. So perhaps a good answer is yes and no.

3. Tell us about a time recently, where you really put your heart into something.

I recently found some picture of Hubby and his first wife, and their farm. Also pictures of their newborn baby girl.

I wanted my (step) daughter to have these and I worked to scan the old pictures in and then send them to her. I’m still not 100%, so sitting at a desk and doing the work was not easy, but it was very important to me that she have them.

4. What’s your favorite fictional love story?

Currently they are Tim & Mary in the movie About Time. I love that movie. Their love starts out slowly, and grows into a wonderful, sweet, devoted, love-story.

Rachel McAdams plays Mary and Domhnall Gleeson plays Tim

5. Do you generally wear your heart on your sleeve, or keep your cards close to the vest?

My family will tell you I am an open book. I wish I weren’t. However, I love deeply, and care so very much, so unfortunately, most people (at least the ones who know me well) will tell you my heart is open to all.

6. What food says love to you? Why?

Champagne and  Chocolate, served on a table with flowers!!

7. When were you last ‘tickled pink’ over something? Explain.

When my daughter came into her kitchen last summer and was holding a pink+ positive pregnancy test! And now, the time is passing so fast and my little grandson will soon be here!

8. Insert your own random thought here.

I looked up at the shadows I saw on my ceiling the other day. What I saw shocked me! The dist on my curtains was rather heavy and the curtains looked rather dusty. I kicked off my shoes and climbed up on my chair and the sofa and pulled down all the curtains. Then I put them into my fabulous washing machine (an LG, now a year old) and put them through a soak and wash cycle and then into the dryer. I pulled them out and carefully put them back up. Now this washing machine did an amazing job, and now they are back up I am thrilled (and exhausted).

Now I usually wash them twice a year, but this year things got messed up due to the neck. Once I finish the office, which should be done by weeks end, I will pull down those curtains and wash them up as well!

You know, for curtains that are 16 years old, they look pretty darn good! But I will tell you, in a year or so, I will actually have to break down and get new ones.

  1. I haven’t seen About Time, so will have to look for that one. I like Rachel McAdams. I’m so excited for you and your new little grandson to love : )

  2. About Time! I saw that a few months ago and LOVED it, but no one I spoke to about it had ever heard of it. Rachel McAdams doesn’t do much for me, but but this movie made me fall in love with Domhnall Gleeson. Good thing too, since his turn in the new Star Wars movie isn’t an endearing one 😉
