Be Careful What You Wish For!

Since Anneliese and Greta began popping out puppies, I began to pray for sleep. Oh, I discovered myself seriously lacking for sleep and all I wanted was some rest.

I looked forward to our vacation as I thought that I would finally get some much needed sleep, but I found, as we cruised around and toured the Caribbean, that I did not get a lot of sleep. Call it my inability to forget the clock.

Since we have been back, and I have been forced to lie still due to the detached retina, I am supposed to be getting a lot of rest. The funny thing is…as I lie here I can only think of all the things I was and need to do, like laundry, dusting, and cooking meals.

Now Hubby is doing a great just cooking for me and he is, in fact, over feeding me! So, no problem there, it’s just that I am bored.

I have watched “Mama Mia” 3 times, “NCIS” more times then I can say, “What Not To Wear” and “Say Yes To The Dress” until I want to plan a shopping trip.

No, this lying down and resting is simply for the birds. I am hoping that I will get some good news tomorrow when I see my surgeon, Dr. C.

Keep your fingers crossed!

  1. Yes! We ALL want to lay down, relax and be lazy! Right up until the very MOMENT we are forced to do just that! I remember as a young mother of 2.5 year old Mathew just begging for a little rest! And then the O.B. put me on 3 months bed rest to keep the twins from coming early! OY! I DIDN’T MEAN it!!! And again when I had my hysterectomy! Rest rest rest! NO! I want to rest when I WANT to rest! And now… thank you Lord… for the most part, I DO!

  2. I am saying an extra prayer that you get Great news today and can at least increase your “up” time so you can do a few things and break up that boredom. Love YOU, Mel

  3. I feel the same, when I have no time to rest I really long for, but when I am forced to rest I want to get up and do thousand things at one time ! But better be patient until it’s completely healed !

  4. Dear Maribeth,
we have slept a lot for a week as well.
We feel the lack of Sunlight.
    Besides, the Cats.
The two, born July 17, which we are Cat Sitters for, are the livelist we ever have seen.
Normally Cats are playing and running for 5-15 minutes.
But the two of them keeps on and keeps on for 90 minutes.
Puhhh. We are happy we dropped the X-Mas tree for the first time ever. They are all over and so quick – wooow.
Besides, the 3 tiny ones born Dec 1, also have started their adventures. Full speed. First discovery: The Litter Box. Hurray for that fact.
Climbing uo our jeans, was next. Four weeks young. Amazing.

Hope to post some more photos of the kittens tomorrow.
After returning from a short shopping in Sweden.
I hrs drive. Prices for some goods are 40-60 % lower.
Other’s are much higher. So we need to know what to buy.
It’s pretty chilly here right now.
Sunny and lots of snow on the Trees, so the Nature is really beautiful.

    Have a great time.

btw. Kittens will be history for us as well.

  5. Hope you are feeling better soon. My dad had a detached retina a few years back. It took time but it healed up just fine. Patience however is not always so easy. I know exactly how you feel, I was in the same situation when my back went out. But remember to do as the doctor says and stay down girl! The dust can wait, the laundry can wait…you can’t.

  6. Just to let you know you’ve been in my thoughts and prayers sweetie! I read all about your cruise, right after I booked a cruise with my twin sister for September! How kwinky-dink like! We decided we didnt want to be anywhere other than on a cruise ship for our big 6-0 birthdays in September…so we will be in the Mexican Riveria (actually in Cabo) for our big day. I pray you get a good word from the doctor! Happiest New Year friend

  7. Honestly, I turn my back on you for a few days and you go letting bits of yourself detach! Seriously, I am just catching up on everyone’s blogs and pleased to hear that you are on the mend. Keeping my fingers crossed for good news for you.
