Happy 4th Of July

The Fourth of July is a federal holiday celebrating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from Great Britain.

Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, picnics, baseball games, and various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States. Fireworks have been associated with the Fourth of July since 1777.

I’m posting this picture with the hope that today will be bright and beautiful and the day will end with a sunset just this nice. Happy 4th of July to you all and may you enjoy the warmth of your family and friends and enjoy the day.

  1. Happy 4th to you as well! It’s been raining here all night and supposed to rain tomorrow as well. I don’t mind though because we really need the rain!

  2. Hi Maribeth,
Thanks for stopping by to burntofferings, I hope that you enjoyed your stay with us! Germany is also a place I would like to go…
Have a great holiday today, and by chance, as you’re all enjoying it, one of your war ships is docking in Sydney (prob as I speak, as it is 1am 5th July here now)! The USS Kitty Hawk, and it will be docking right next door to my work, so I will go and have a look and take a few pics…
