ORIGINAL

This is my Shubi. She was my first wire-haired dachshund, and the dog of my heart and soul. A true original! I had her from the time she was three months old until her death at age ten years. She was the sweetest, gentlest and kindest dog I have ever known. I still miss her.

  1. What a cute picture ! I believe you that you still miss her. I shared my life with Piccola a black cat for 20 years. She was very special and went with me everywhere, friends, travels, shopping just like a dog. I only regret that I don’t have a real good picture of her digital cameras didn’t exist and it was in 1964 – 1984 !

  2. Shubi was a beautiful dog. I can also understand your missing her. I still think of my childhood dog, Biffer (cocker spaniel) who lived to be 19 years of age. Shubi was such a beautiful color too.

  3. When I met her first she immediately jumped on my laps and showed me she will be my friend. She was such a wonderful dog and I still love her very much and miss her so much as well.
Thank you I could see her in person and learn what a wonderful dog she was.
    Love Uschi

  4. Well, I guess that is like first love ๐Ÿ™‚

I must say that she is very, very beautiful! What a beautiful color she had and the fur is so special too well groomed. Love the snow in her face ๐Ÿ™‚

    Ah, those wonderful old friends….

  5. Shubi was an absolute beauty, but it sounds like she was as much a beautiful soul on the inside too.

This is what ‘original’ is all about. Your very first love, your original bond with the wire-haired dachshund, and the soul that left pawprints on your heart.

  6. Ohhh.. Shubi is a lovely dog!
I had a dog too before her names’s Sugar. We lost her when she was 15 y/o, It was a sad day for all of us but then again Life is really like that. I just think that Sugar is now somewhere out there and happy. And now I’m thinking Shubi must be one of her friends now. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Have a wonderful day!
