Long, long ago, in a galaxy far, far away, a sweet, beautiful baby girl was born. She had hazel eyes and blond curls and was the first daughter born to our parents, Roz and Jim.
They named the little girl Melodie, and she grew into a true beauty. As she grew, her spirit developed into a bright and loving little girl.
She loved her older brother Dickie, and she watched over him as they played and grew, fiercely protective, defending him when local bullies would attempt to hurt him.
In time, her parents gave her a little baby sister. Melodie was so happy to have this little baby girl as her very own. The baby was called Maribeth.
Throughout her life, Melodie has been there to love her family and friends. She met her husband when they were just 13 years old. Ron and Melodie lived far apart, and they wrote each other long letters. Ron would come down to the Cape sometimes, and Melodie would go up to the city to see Ron. Occasionally I went too and visited our grandparents.
Eventually, they got married and have lived together happily ever after for 55+ years (and counting)! They have two sons and a daughter, as well as four grandsons and two granddaughters.
So I wish my dearest sister, Melodie, a Happy Birthday and a year ahead filled with lots of love and joy!
