Oh…The Pain

It started about 10 days ago. I noticed after I ate, I felt sick. I tried to sort of change around what I was eating and still I didn’t feel well. Not only that, But I had these sharp pains in the middle of my chest, that sort of radiated into my back. It almost felt like I was having a heart attack. But Hubby assured me, it wasn’t and I was fine, sort of.
Well, finally when even toast was making me feel ill with pain I decided to go in to see my doctor.. It is probably a problem with my gallbladder. I am having an ultra sound on Thursday. Great. That’s actually the good news: the bad news, unless the thing is infected and you are half dead they won’t take the darn thing out. Which means you have to get yourself on the lowest fat diet that you can to treat the gallbladder problem.
The other thing it might be, if it’s not the gallbladder, is an ulcer. So I have to get blood work done to check for that. Meanwhile, he put me on some medication for acid stomach and if it helps, great! If not, then the other problem is what we are probably dealing with.
All I can say is, “Oh…The Pain…”

  1. I have heard that many people who go on the Atkins or South Beach have this problem develop. You may need to try a different kind of diet and that might help get things feeling better. I hope all is well, let me know.

  2. I feel for yah. I had my GB removed about 5 years ago. Before the surgery I was wishing for death I was in so much pain. Good luck.

  3. Mel – It’s Atkins that can cause this problem, because it’s a high fat diet. Atkins and South Beach, which is all low fat, are as different as night and day LOL!

Having said that, I had my gallbladder out a few years ago and the couple weeks preceeding the surgery were full of tossing cookies whenever ANYTHING went into my tummy. YUCK! I felt like the character on South Park who hurls everytime he tries to talk to the girl he likes. I thought it was an ulcer at first, too, but when Peptid and that stuff didn’t work, I knew it was gallbladder LOL!

    Keep me posted!

  4. I’m really sorry to hear it. I had mine removed four years back. I had stones too. I was passing out before they would take mine out and it made me feel so ill. But they can zap it by ultrasound now I think. Hope you feel better soon 🙂
