It’s Freezing

On Monday morning when we woke up to an unbelievable minus 13 (f) degrees, I knew that I would spend the morning wrapped in my flannel jammies and long fleece bathrobe! I also knew that I would drink every drop of hot coffee that I could stomach (four) and keep as many dachshunds around me as possible (two).

The day did get a little better as the temperatures soared to +2, and we did have bright sunshine, but for the most part the dogs and I stayed put.

Hubby, being the brave and intrepid skier that he is, went out and skied 8 runs in the bitter cold! I am so proud of his accomplishment! (But personally think he is a little nuts!)

Monday night found the temperatures dropping again. It was already down to minus 2 (f) degrees at 8 o’clock in the evening, and I bet will come close to the low we had on Monday morning when we wake on Tuesday.

All I can say is, “So much for Global Warming!”

  1. I can’t believe he skiied in those temps…that would be too much for me! We have the same frigid temps here…and its snowing a bit this morning. Again : )

  2. I am not sure about the Global warming thing. Someone said we’ll get colder as other places get warmer or something. I guess I don’t understand the whole thing.
Anyway, snow again this morning and more to come. Love YOU, Mel

  3. Wow ! that means – 10°C, your nose will freeze ! I don’t mind the cold as long as the sun is shining. Here it’s quiet “warm” but it rains cats and dogs and I don’t even know anymore how the son looks like.

  4. It has been in the negetive’s here in Ohio too. I stay put in the house. The dogs only go out, run thru the snow, do there business and run back in. Too cold for me!!! Please keep my dapple dachshund in your prayers as she has a slipped disk in her back and has had 2 cortizone shots since Friday and gets another one Thursday. She is only 3 yrs old. Breaks my heart. She has degenerative disk disease, the vet says. I do not even want to think of what the outcome could be. The expense is getting a little much. She is the sweetest dog, I have ever owned. I just adore her. Her name is Bailey. We rescued her last year.

    God Bless and stay warm!!!
