As I sat around all weekend “healing”, I watched a lot of TV. What to watch? Most of it was terribly boring stuff, but BBC America had some great shows on and I watched those.
“Trading Spaces” Two couples trade homes and redo one room in the others house.
“Home Invaders” A design team shows up at dawn and helps you redecorate three rooms in your home with leftover materials in your house.
And of course my favorite show, which has nothing to do with home design, but has everything to do with fun, “What Not To Wear”.

After watching multiple episodes of the home design shows, I am now ready to tackle the cleaning of my basement and the redecorating of my family room. Not that this will all be done soon, in fact it will be a few weeks until I can start working on cleaning out the basement, but the desire is now there.
By Sunday night when Jack came in from mowing the lawn, he groaned loudly when he heard a british accent on the TV. Apparently he does not share my love of these British design shows.
My plans are to clear the basement and make a small room down there for the exercise bike, (also known as the torture machine!) and to eventually get a treadmill. I would like to put our old sofa down there and get some new family room furniture. Most of all, I want it clean and dust free. Right now it’s hard to find anything through the clouds of dust!
So while I sit here killing time, I’m plotting and planning on how I can improve this little place I call home.
