Today is my daughter, Amanda Mae’s birthday. Her birth was the very best day of my life! I know for sure that she was the best Christmas present that I ever got.
Happy Birthday, Mandy! I love you!!!

Happy Birthday, Mandy! I love you!!!
On Friday I went down to see Mandy and Savannah. It was a cold and clear day when I left, and when I arrived I had a nice breakfast with the girls before we headed over to the Outlet Mall near Mandy’s home.
The only problem I have with Outlet Malls is that they are outdoors. So one must dress for the cold weather, but also be prepared to remove the clothes once you’re inside and heating up fast!
Savannah got irritated. She wasn’t having the transitions well, and being trapped in the stroller was really making her cranky. We took turns walking her and running after her, but that makes shopping tough.
Eventually we gave up and stopped for take out food before going back to Mandy’s house.
We had lunch, gave Savannah a bath (which she just loved!)
and then once we got Savannah down for her nap, we sat talking. (That is macaroni & cheese on her nose and squash soup on her temple!)
I drove home mid afternoon, and the weather was wild! First sunshine, then rain, then sleet, then snow! It was amazing. I just took my time, stopping for gas ($3.13 a gallon!) and some groceries.
By the time I pulled in, it was just getting dark outside, and I was glad to be back. So were Hubby and the dogs, as I made dinner for them all.
Since I am never at a loss for words, it shocked me to see, at 4 PM on the 4th of July no less, that I had forgotten to post for today!
Forget the face or foot or my Mom not doing well. Wait, that is probably why I forgot! I have simply too much on my mind!
Since my foot is keeping me down, I decided to keep the fourth of July simple. I had ribs marinating in the fridge, potato salad all made and corn ready to be shucked and eaten.
Aside from that, I’ve watched Wimbledon Tennis, and reruns of movies I have already seen, but have become like old friends.
It is simply crayon meltingly hot, and also super humid! Hubby has all the air conditioers cleaned, and running. Our electric bill will not be good at the end of this month but, oh well!
I also got the best picture of my daughter holding her daughter today. They are at the beach and she put this on her Facebook wall. I just love it!
Sometimes computers just make me so mad!
You see yesterday I turned on the computer and the little icon for my speakers disappeared from the task bar! I looked and all the little boxes were checked and it ‘should’ have worked, but it didn’t!
So I tried a number of things to ‘fix’ it, and nothing worked. I sat down again today and gave it another go. I unchecked the boxes and saved that. They I rechecked the boxes and the icon appeared. So I very quickly saved the set up and then held my breath and closed the program out and waited.
Well, so far, so good. I’m hoping this has done it.
Savannah had her one year old photo shoot done. Here are my two favorites!
You know, it is just the most wonderful thing to have a daughter and a granddaughter that I am this crazy about! I am blessed!
My favorite picture of Mandy and Me. Yesterday she made a beautiful meal to celebrate Mother’s Day.

And here are some new ones of our darling Savannah!

She will be a year old in just a couple of weeks!
My daughter is the best mother. Savannah is sweet and happy and I know it is because she has such a wonderful mother.
She is taking her first few steps and eating everything. She loves angel cake and whipped cream!
I got right down there on the floor and had a blast playing with her!

Best of all, she loves me so matter what I look like. That is such a wonderful feeling!

This was the best Mother’s Day ever!

I was lying down in my recliner, taking a rest and watching movies that I have seen a gazillion times before, when my cell phone rang. It was my daughter, Mandy!
She asked me what I was up to and I admitted that I was not doing a darn thing.
In fact, watching the bad TV and sort of drowsing in a semi-state of sleep, was just wasting time.
She asked if I might like a visit? A visit with her and my favorite little grand-baby!
She did not have to twist my arm or ask twice! And a mere hour and a half later, they arrived!
Now just look at this little girl? How can I stay depressed and feeling sorry for myself when I have Savannah playing with me?
She is crawling and climbing and taking steps. She handled herself pretty well with the dogs, and flirted with Hubby!
Savannah and Mandy were simply the best medicine that I could have had today.
Thank you so much, girls!
Friday found me heading down to spend the day with my girls. You know I feel so very blessed to have such a wonderful daughter, and her fabulous baby!
Now that Savannah is growing up, she is really showing so much of her personality.
Today’s visit, I spent a lot of time just getting down on the carpet and playing with Savannah and talking to Mandy.
We played and laughed and rolled around. It was wonderful! It reminded me of all the goodness in the world!
I love Mandy and Matt’s new place! It is so cute and Mandy has decorated it so nicely. The nursery is so adorable! It’s peaceful, and bright and really pleasant.
We picked up my former mother in-law and she joined us for lunch. That was also great. Four generations of women all sitting at one table! We had various meals, and Savannah actually tried her very first french fry.

I’m not sure she really liked it!
My drive home found me with a big smile on my face. I think today was one of the best days ever. Babies that play are just so much fun!!!
Today is the birthday of my daughter, Mandy. She is the apple of my eye, and also my dearest friend! How lucky we are to have each other!
It seems like just yesterday that she was born. What an amazing thing. Before that I was just Maribeth. But after her birth, I became a mother…her mother. That was when I knew what pure happiness was all about!
Happy Birthday, Sweetie!!!

On Friday I drove down early to see Mandy and Savannah. I left really early, because Mandy wanted to take Savannah into her work to introduce her. Mandy had her all dressed up in the cutest pink dress and ballerina tights for her debut!
Then we went off to do some shopping. Both of us needed a few things, and this time Macy’s came through with a few deals. We also walked through the mall, and I was able to pick up a cheap copy of “Love Actually”! I was so happy.
We stopped for lunch, and there we were in a noisy restaurant, and Savannah slept through it all. I know I could not do that. I need either silent rooms, or the low white noise of the TV. But slept, she did.
We visited Trader Joes, and I learned that the Christmas Stollen (Fruit Bread), and the Lebkuchen (cookies) from Germany won’t be in until mid November.
Then we headed back to Mandy’s place and began snapping pictures. If you ever have trouble getting a picture of a baby or young child, use the paparazzi setting on your camera. It works so well.

Savannah and Mandy.

Pulling her Mom’s hair.

Savannah and Grandma!
I can’t believe how fast she is growing up! She loves to sit up now and actively reaches and plays with her toys. She talks to Mandy and to her toys.
And I as her Grandma, am amazed!
I went down to see Savannah Rose and Mandy on Monday. What a great time I had. I just love Mandy so much, and I really love seeing her as a Mom. She is just the best!
As you can see, Savannah’s eyes are getting blue-er by the minute!
I got home very late and Hubby and I didn’t even eat dinner until nearly 9 PM. I’ve got a dentist appointment in the morning, but I promise I will write more about the visit and put in a few more pictures. For now, I need to get to bed!
