Day Light Saving & Greta

Today I simply didn’t want to get up. Hubby woke early, as he was going to go skiing, but while he got himself ready for the slopes, I pulled the covers over my head and tried to remain asleep. I thought I was going to get away with it, but then Hubby said, “Aren’t you going to get up?” and I knew that I really needed to do just that.

The clocks changed over the weekend, and we lost an hour as we “sprang forward”! This is always so hard for me to do. Somehow in the Autumn when we “fall back” an hour I can handle that. An extra hour of sleep is always most welcome.

The other dilemma with this whole clock changing thing is that the dogs just don’t get it. I try to explain to them that they should sleep in and let me sleep too, but once that sun starts rising early, well they are literally up with the birds!

Their other problem is dinner time. They eat at exactly 5 PM, and anything that changes this, upsets their little doggy routine.

So while Hubby skied, I took Greta in for her yearly exam and shots. She is well and was thrilled to be the only dog going for a ride in the car. A real treat for her.

  1. Please tell Greta that I share her sentiments about the whole Daylight Savings Time – I say we should split the difference to 30 minutes in the Fall – go back 30 minutes and then be done with it and skip it forever forward!

  2. Our clocks don’t go forward here in Scotland for another….I don’t know, a few weeks I think. It can’t come soon enough: I want to go home from work in DAYLIGHT!

  3. Ah – kids and dogs just don’t get it do they. I’ve been tempted to comment that maybe they need a clock – or a watch – then they would be……watch dogs. LOL Sorry – I should have resisted the comment.

  4. Althought I reside in Saskatchewan Canada we have to change the time since we are a border town along side Manitoba Boo!!! Saskatchewan BTW doesn’t change their clocks ever. That’s the way it should be!

  5. Thanks for reminding me and now I understand a bit of a mystery for me: You see I use an American service as a site meeter, tracking traffic on my site. I can adjust it to Norwegian (or European time then), but since Sunday I notice it still counted wrong one hour – well now I know why and have adjusted it again.

You see we change clock before 30th of March.
