I started the day quite early. Did the dogs wake me up, or perhaps Hubby’s loud snores?
No.
It was just me. I woke up and my brain clicked on. Does that happen to you? It drives me nuts when it happens, but there really isn’t much you can do.
I lay there for a while trying to go back to sleep. Hubby was sound asleep and not making any noises. The dogs were all cuddled around me, and Fritz was curled up on the floor next to Hubby’s side of the bed.
My brain, the traitor in this situation, clicked on and I started to think about packing. What did I need to bring with me on the cruise, what did I need to buy before we left and how many pairs of socks, underwear, shorts and shirts needed to be packed?
As I lay there, trying not to move and wake the hounds, it suddenly dawned on me that Mother Nature was calling. I tried to ignore it and just lie there, but after a few minutes of thinking about being on a cruise ship in the middle of the ocean, I thought I might just explode and…..I got out of bed and my day began!
An overactive brain and bladder will get you every time!

You are going to have so much fun on the cruise!! You look so cute and have such a nice personality. Yep, you will have a wonderful time. Take lots of pictures.
Uh, I hate when that happens. Well, at least you were being productive planning ahead for your cruise 😉
It’s even worse when you are dead tired, going to bed and your brain just decides to keep on going and you can’t fall asleep for hours.
Hate that!!!
That drives me crazy too! I usually fall asleep okay, it’s in the middle of night or early morning. I find if I have had really hectic, stressful day it is more apt to happen.
Love YOU, Mel
You are on the cruise countdown with checklist, and I am on the moving countdown with checklist! Believe me–I understand! 🙂
Have a great day!
Love you,
Mandy
I used to get really upset when that happened because I have such a hard time getting back to sleep. But in the last year I’ve learned that MOST of the time when it happens, God has something to say to me… and if I just lay there and listen the message gets through. So nOw I get kind of excited when I am suddenly awakened and alert! I wonder what He has to tell me! LOL! (of course, sometimes He tells me things I don’t want to hear – but that’s when He knows He’s got a captive audience!)
You are going to have sooooooo much fun on this cruise! And I am going to have sooooooooo much fun hearing about it when you get back!!! This will definitely be a vicarious trip I’m on!
I usually wake up because 5 cats are sitting around my bed and speak loud about breakfast ! Nature calls me during the night always around 2 am ! I never had that before, I could sleep through. But then when I go to bed I start to think ! On the 15th Nov Chantal and I are going to Egypt ! Youpee ! Two weeks sunshine. Mr. Gattino wants to stay home with the cats.
What a lovely walk you had yesterday !
Oh I love those days! 🙂 I get lots done!
Great storytelling.
I think by my self: It’s better to sometimes have an overactive brain that an empty one, which I, in Fact, had for about 36 hours from Sunday afternoon.
Which you the absolutely best for your cruise.
hugs
Tor
Oh I am SOOOOOOO with you. Take NOW for example. 3.27am, I have been up since 1.30am!!! I do not think I will be back in bed before daylight either (in about an hour I suppose…).
However, this is after my nerve block and my back is getting more comfortable, NOW!
Now it is to early to go and have a spa outside, not that it makes any noise, I just do not think it is right. So, I jumped on the net to caatch up on my blogs, and my brain is now buzzing!
L is off to a work weekend with the Councillors for the Local Council, so I can catch up then…
Ho hum!
It happens, but not so often. Mostly because of hunger… I need my night snack…. *giggles*
