Friday night we had a big snow storm. I think when all was said and done we had about 12 inches of snow! Hubby dragged out the ancient (and currently not working well) snow blower, and unhappily cleared the driveway, twice! Arnie took two steps out the door and pooped and then turned around and came back in, and Greta took three steps, did her thing and came in looking quite indignant!
But we had one family member who was dancing with delight.
Anneliese!
She raced out the door, jumping from one pile of snow to the next. She tunneled,
she ran like a wild girl,
licking the snowflakes, the mounds of snow and almost laughing at the winter weather.
The other dogs stood, gazing at her with shocked eyes. How could she possibly be enjoying this cold wet stuff? But she did. I swear at one point she actually stopped, looked back at them and grinned.
She has been going in and out all day and staying until her little doggy lips turned blue (what do you mean dog’s lips don’t turn blue?), before returning to the warmth of the house.
Saturday night I thought for sure she would be exhausted. However, she isn’t and I think if I opened that door one more time she would be out and running around in the snow again.
I may not be thrilled with the snow, but for Anneliese, this is a dream come true!
Too cute, she looks like she’s having so much fun!!
Awww, your babies in the snow are soooo cute!!
Brilliant pictures! I used to have a little Cairn terrier when I was a child and he loved the snow too. He would run around in it as the snow clumped together between his little legs until eventually he seized up and he could no longer move. Then we would carry him and defrost him with a warm shower. Rinse and repeat.
I would rather act like the two others and not like Anneliese, she seems to love the snow ! I haven’t seen any yet !
So wonderful pictures… and believe it or not… I can see how much she grinned to the other doggies…hihihihi
Love Uschi
Cute!!!! My little guy is not in like. hehe.
LOL! That’s the way my Jewl is when it snows! OH MAN! She LOVES it! The cat? Not so much! Freedom gets indignant when it rains! This morning we woke up to icy trees and shrubs – but the ground was fine. The car had a very very thin sheet of ice on it — but it melted quickly when I turned on the defrost. I guess winter is official for both of us now!
she takes after her Uncle Wolf!
She just looks like she’s having the best time in the world!! The dog I co-owned with the ex, loved the snow as well; she would tunnel through it, roll around in it, and go bounding through it like there was no tomorrow.
I miss the snow – I’d love to see my cats’ reactions to it since they both love the rain!
Those pictures are adorable! I can see she is a real Snow Dog! you might want to get her a pair of skis or a sled for Christmas! Love YOU, Mel
Too cute!! I don’t want a dog of my own but I love seeing yours!! Dogs playing in snow are more fun than kids playing in snow!
That’s one of the best things I know, to watch them ENJOY the snow. My former dog was crazy about the snow too and it’s such a sight, the happiness is contagious!
