We woke to Snowy/icy/rainy weather on Friday. Hubby was excited because the ski area he wanted to go to was finally open for the first day!He filled his coffee thermos and off he went, leaving me and the pups with a blank slate for the day.
Originally I planned to read, relax and make turkey soup, but as I sat here watching “The Santa Clause”, I began to get the Christmas spirit, and I climbed up into the attic and took down the box with the electric window candles. I’ll just put them in the windows and life will be good, I thought!
Except that when I got to the windows in the bedroom and family room, I found I had a big cleaning job to do first! Two hours later the windows were clean and the candles were up in every room.
The turkey soup got made and it came out well, although I think it will be better tomorrow when I can skim off the fat. It just tasted slightly too rich for my taste.
Later in the evening I got a tag on Facebook with the link below. I sat listening, and felt tears well up inside of me. This is probably one of my favorite musical pieces!
Enjoy!!!
I started the day the same way, only it’s Saturday morning ! It also snowed a little and I also thought about my Christmas stuff. I had packed the whole decoration in empty suitcases which we don’t use anymore they are too big, we used them when we went to the States. Now they sit in our living room and wait to be unpacked ! I’ll do that this afternoon ! I also get a little Christmas mood !
The video is wonderful ! I should ask our Waterloo chorus to sit in a restaurant and suddenly start to sing ! I am sure that would haved a lot of success !
Our plan is to put the trees up today while our girls are home for Thanksgiving break. They like to help with that part. Sometimes helpers run out of steam but they’re good for the first part at least.
Hubs and I put the Snow Village up on Tuesday. I had pulled it all out last weekend and it was sitting on my kitchen table so it had to be moved. I’m glad that is done because it takes the better part of a day. It’s easier to get some of the other decorating done with that out of the way.
We made carcass soup (I know there must be another name but this is what we’ve always called it) yesterday and used a new recipe. It was the best I’ve ever had…you added butter/flour mix towards the end and it is absolutley delicious!
Love the flash mob scene! I put it on FB LOL!
