This morning I got up and turned on the TV set. Snow was falling, wind was blowing and The frigid conditions made my teeth chatter! Grrrrrr.
But it was Ground Hog Day and surely Punxsutawney Phil would have good news!
I waited and waited, watching the cold, white snow flakes fall from the sky and pile up on the ground.
I began to think, “Phil, if you don’t get this forecast right, for an early spring…I’m coming down to Gobbler’s Knob, and I will hunt you down!
Fortunately, Phil came through, he didn’t see his shadow and an early spring is forecast.
For those of you who wonder about Punxsutawney Phil you can go HERE and read all about him and the legend of the Ground Hog!
I hope for your sake it´s true! Funny tradition you have over there. 🙂
Yes, we were so happy that Phil came through, I fear I doubt his prediction though….sigh! Love YOU, Mel
That was very interesting because I never heard about this ground hog story and I didn’t even know what a ground hog was, until I looked in my dictionary ! I read the story and it’s funny because in French you say that you sleep like a marmote, which is the expression for a ground hog.
I sincerely hope that spring comes soon and stays for a while !! I saw horrible storms on TV. How was in in your corner ?
I know a lot of people are waiting for Spring to arrive. Its been one heck of a winter! I think the groundhog thing is a strange tradition.
