Friday found me just chilling out and being extremely quiet. When I woke up, besides a rather dull headache, my neck hurt on the right side telling me that I really did take a good crack to my helmet.
For those of you that missed it, here is what happened.
I was getting off a ski lift on Thursday and was hit in the head by the lift chair. I kind of think it knocked me out for a second, as my husband said I just lay in the snow like a dead seal., but when I came around, it was like an explosion of pain in my head unlike anything I have ever felt. Anyway, thank goodness I had a helmet on, as it could have been much worse.
I am so grateful to have been wearing my helmet! I nearly went out that day with Just a hat. So it was lucky for me that I didn’t. I never will even attempt to ski without the correct gear.
Good Lord! We hardly get snow and I’ll take your advice!
Sweetie, I hope you are feeling better starting now!
OMG ! How could that happen ? You really were very lucky that you had the helmet on your head !
Love the picture! Glad you are feeling better today! You can’t be too careful with your head/brain! Love YOU, Mel
OMG, Maribeth, I hope you’re feeling better… I’ve skied without a helmet for 25 years, but I think I want to get one now.
Ow! Good grief, woman – you are turning into a daredevil! Am sending you our entire collection of bubble wrap to turn into some sort of head-to-toe body protection suit before you go skiing again.
I am so glad you did have a helmet on. My husband was knocked more lightly in the back of the head with a lift chair this season suffering only a momentary headache and that coupled with slipping on ice walking between locker and slopes and hitting his head again is exactly why he bought his first helmet. (I’ve been too stubborn to wear one yet 🙁
how great is that helmet! what a scare……
Oh my goodness I am so sorry that happened to you. Hope your better now and thankful it wasn’t worse. So glad you had the helmet on. ((HUGS))
