Thursday Thirteen

Feb 8 tt13

This is my work week. I don’t usually work, but I am helping a friend out, and actually I am thinking that if I can, I may get a part time job to help out with expenses. Anyway, here are thirteen things I think about, regarding working.

  1. I had to get up early! I am not one who enjoys getting up early. I bet I’m not the only one.
  2. I did my hair, and actually had to use the curling iron and hair spray to tame my mop. I wouldn’t want to look messy in a hair salon!
  3. Make up! Yes, I had to do my make up. I almost never wear make-up and I just hate putting it on!
  4. I made our breakfast, and emptied the dishwasher while I was doing this. I sort of hoped that Hubby would get the idea to fill in with the dirty dishes.
  5. Unfortunately, Hubby did not put the dishes into the dishwasher. I guess I need to mention it to him.
  6. I’d hoped that Hubby would volunteer to make the dinner. He didn’t, so you know who heated up the meal.
  7. The funny thing is, I will do it all over again tomorrow. Not so bad, really.
  8. I wondered how many people have jobs that they really love and yet still come home each day and cook meals for themselves and their families.
  9. I’ve tried to figure out what type of job would really make me happy.
  10. I haven’t seen an ad to become a member of the Royal Family, where you go around smiling, shaking hands and being waited on.
  11. I would think it would be fun to be an actress. Fancy clothes, hair styles, you know. Again, no one has asked.
  12. Meanwhile, I plan to lay out my clothes again tonight.
  13. Am I the only one who does that?

  1. Don’t know what life would be like if I hadn’t always worked. I might actually like to cook;) jack likes to so he does (dinner, we are on our own for the other two) and I clean up. All the other chores we kind of split. Not down the middle or anything just whoever has time does. I like mowing the lawn in the summer. First the push mower then the ride o. Jack does so much mowing he likes a break. Life is funny. You never know what you end up doing. I like to work but vacations are better!

  2. I worked full-time for 3 years with kids at home to feed after work … I think we spent a lot of my salary on take-out food!! I hated it really … liked working part-time and may consider that again some day (soon).

  3. I think it is useless to hope that someone will do a task around the house. I always have to mention things. It gets tiring. I made a job chart and after all this time I still have to mention things. I do a lot myself just because I am so tired of asking/telling people to do things. One day they might all be gone though.

I don’t know how people with children work full time. I consider working part-time but not sure how I’ll handle it as things are so overwhelming and backed up now at home. I would like the extra money though. I decided it would have to be a 9-1 or 9-2 so I’d have time to recoup before having to make dinner. Or maybe an evening job. I really admire those that manage a job (either full- or part-time) and taking care of a family.

I always liked the name Savannah. It’s so beautiful. I hope she feels better soon. If you get a chance you should see the movie Savannah Smiles. It’s old and kind of dated but I love it. I cry like crazy every time I wtch it.

  4. I have worked all my life and I was very happy, because I loved my job. I would have gone crazy to stay at home and raise kids ! But that’s a choice. When I worked it was hard for me to get up, now that I am retired, I wake up at 6 am !! it’s a shame, lol ! We have always shared household scores as we worked both, and now we are both retired so that remains the same. I think it’s nice to get a little half time job, that gets you out of the house and brings some money in !

  5. Up until I became disabled, I always worked full time outside the home — I HATED it. The lack of control over my environment, the fact that I couldn’t stand what I was doing AND it was keeping me from doing what I really wanted to do (writing), and all of those prep things and house-care things that still needed to be done… it was just not for me. I was very lucky that my physical health actually allowed me to make my dreams come true and write.

    Now I love working!

P.S. Your sweetie is SO CUTE I JUST WANT TO EAT HER UP!

    Heather
