Worry

We’re worried. Fritz is not himself. It started a few weeks back, but it was not too bad. Then over the weekend Fritz began hiding and pacing and nervously trying to get into the smallest place possible in the house.

At lunchtime we let him out for his wee=wee, and usually he goes and comes right back in. But he didn’t. I jumped in my jeep and drove out calling his name. I found him, but away from his safety zone.

On Monday night when I went to get him in, he back away from me. I stopped and gently called to him and eventually got him in. But he seemed afraid of me.

I’m so afraid for our boy. Fritz will be 10 years old in July. He is definitely a senior citizen. He sleeps more than he did, and isn’t hungry like he used to be, but he has always been in good shape.

Now, not so much. We’ll get him into the Vet’s in the next few days. We’ll see what they say, but we are both afraid for our boy.

  1. Get him checked out! He might just need a little more supervision when he’s outside than he’s needed in the past. Getting old is not always fun for all involved. Poor doggy. Love YOU, Mel

  2. Oh no. I am sorry to hear that.
I hope whatever is temporarily and that he wi be his old selfe soon.
Keep us updated once you have been at the Vet.

  3. I hope everything is okay. Could he have gotten into something he shouldn’t have? Maybe eaten something? I hope the vet is able to give you some answers. He is a handsome boy!

  4. Oh, I am so sorry to hear that, Maribeth. I hope the vet can give you some needed answers and hopefully he’ll be back to his old self soon.

  5. I just caught up on your posts and am happy that you could work in your garden and that Mandy visited you with Savannah, how sweet of her !
I hope that Fritz doesn’t have anything serious, it might be springtime too. Lots of dogs old or young behave strangely in this period of the year ! I have never seen so many dogs running free who escaped from home to look for girls !

  6. I remember him so well as a frolicking, happy puppy. Hope the vet is able to solve the problem and give him, and you and Jack, some additional happy time together.
