Thought On A Monday Morning

I’m thinking i should have started my walking routine, a little more slowly than I did. My first day I walked Arnie one mile, and then I rested. Then I walked Anneliese a mile, and rested. Then I walked Greta a mile and now I am exhausted, and a little sore.

You see, I am 57 years old, and like it or not after having had the cervical spine injury, surgery and recovery, I have become woefully out of shape! No, really bad. I kid you not.

I remember when I was in my teens and twenties, I could go down with an injury and bounce back pretty quickly. I also never really lost muscle tone either.

I am here to report that at 57, if you don’t use it you lose it! So, this summer I am set to get my mojo back. And with it, my muscle health and personal well being.

I figure if I can confess that my office was a disaster and finally clean it up, I can confess to my being out of shape, and my determination to get myself back on track. It’s just not easy!

  1. Try gentle yoga for seniors, it’s supposed to strengthen and give us more energy without the crazy jumping around the young people do. I’m just in the thinking about it stage. Hope to get more incentive soon!

  2. Most beginner yoga classes are great, and you only do what is right for your own body. It’s the best thing I ever did, and teaching it helped me learn so much more. Will give you a private lesson in the summer when you are on the Cape!
