Sweet Wolf

My cousin’s little Shiba Inu doggy, Wolf was diagnosed with a ruptured cruciate ligament. He’s 13 years old and the Vet has recommended using pain medication over surgery. Poor baby. He is such a sweetie. Janet’s late dog Max is the reddish dog on the left, and Wolf is on the right. I’ve always thought Wolf looked exotic.

(Thank you to my cousin, Janet for the wonderful picture!)

I wish I could take away his pain. Since I can’t I will ask you all to send good vibes to Wolf. I know how much my cousin loves him, and I know she will give him a good life even with this condition. She is a good doggy Mommy and her husband is an awesome doggy Daddy.

Super Bowl

Did this week just fly by or what? It’s not that I got so much done, but it just seems that last weekend went by and now here we are, and it is Friday, and in two days we will watch the Super Bowl.

I will be watching the Super Bowl for one reason. To see the commercials. Back in the old days, when The Patriots really were bad, I just watched The Super Bowl to see the funny commercials.

Well, here we are again. The Patriots lost, will not be playing in the Super Bowl, I could care less for either team, so commercial watching it is!

We aren’t going to any party’s. It will be Hubby and me at home, so I expect we will have some nice appetizers and something nice for dinner, and watch the commercials!

It’s kind of funny. I was watching the movie “Fever Pitch” about the Red Sox first big win since Babe Ruth. Kind of made me think of The Patriots and days gone by.

I would have loved another Super Bowl win, but that just isn’t going to happen. Not this year.

Well, everyone, have a good weekend, enjoy the football and I hope your team wins!

Back In The Saddle Again

I admit. Since we returned from our trip I have not done much at all. I have slept, watched TV, and hibernated.

I think it was the snow that was falling when we landed at Logan Airport on the 18th of January. Yes, that’s it. The shock of being back in the northeast after being down in the warmth.

But today I decided to get off my chair and do the laundry and change the sheets. You know, the important stuff.

I also took out some lovely chicken breasts, stuffing I made a month or so ago and tucked in the freezer and peeled the rutabaga and potatoes for our dinner.

So Hubby and I will have clean underwear and socks to wear, clean sheets to sleep on, and a normal and decent dinner meal!

Hubby asked if I had a fever? Have I lost what little of my mind that I have left? Or am I just getting back on schedule?

I’m going with the losing my mind. It’s more entertaining than a fever or just getting back on schedule.

Have I mentioned the dogs are happy to have us home? Yup, Arnie and Greta stick to me like glue during the day and at night, Anneliese is my little cuddle bunny in bed.

So, it was a successful day today and I’m starting to feel pretty good about being productive.

Back To The Real World

Hubby’s been gone all day down to Manchester. He had business to do, and I stayed home with the dogs and complete ownership of the remote control. I’ve watched all kinds of chick flick stuff like HGTV  a couple of chick flick movies and not one moment of news or weather.

Since we have been home from the vacation it seems Hubby is catching up with all his news and weather programs, and I don’t get to watch my fun shows. I’m thinking we need to look in to a package with the satellite company to expand our coverage into the bedroom.

After being on a vacation when I did not think about cooking but only what I wanted to eat, now we are home I actually have to prepare meals! Due to lack of interest, we are having spaghetti and meatballs tonight. And tomorrow is baked stuffed chicken breasts. Yeah, we are talking no desire. Oh well.

It’s back to life!

Macaroni & Cheese

Macaroni & Cheese

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound pasta penne, elbows, etc.
  • Sea Salt
  • 3 tablespoons butter

The Weather

OK. Here we are, back in New Hampshire, after enjoying the warmth of the Caribbean, and we are freezing our bottoms off! You see, we left the tropical heat of 75-85 degrees (F) and now we are home and it is close to zero every day!

At least I was not on the cruise ship that was hit with the Noro-Virus! Have you seen this? Six hundred people, violently ill and confined to a ship! Now the last place I would want to be, when I am ill like that, is on a ship!

As I write it is once again snowing. The Farmers Almanac said that the northeast was going to be “warmer and drier” this year. And guess what? It has been colder and snowier!

Have a great week everyone!

Home

It is hard for me to believe I have been home for a week. It seemed I was looking forward to the vacation, then it was here and gone so quickly. Ah, to be on a Princess Cruise Ship once again!

I guess I will have to plan another cruise in the not too distant future. That will give me something big to look forward too.

Meanwhile tonight I caught Anneliese eating wood. Hubby brought in some to have a fire in our fireplace, and the next thing I knew Anneliese had eaten some and then it was pretty obvious she had something caught in her throat. I tried to get it with my fingers. Then I tried milk and butter. Finally I tried peanut-butter on bread with a shot of milk! That did it. She is now fine and enjoying the fire.

I Need A Vacation

From our cabin, we could see the bridge of the ship. There was always so much happening when we anchored off shore, or docked at an island. Yes, the bridge got very busy!

January 11 14 036

There were times it was nearly empty, and I wondered who was watching things. But then, todays ships are so modern they have all the bells and whistles.

On our ship, it was commanded by a Commodore Giuseppe Romano. This means he is a senior captain. I met him twice and saw him on the ship a few times. He seemed a nice enough man.

I sure liked the crew members that we dealt with. Our Cabin Steward, the waiters at our table and the breakfast crew.

I’m still working on getting my land legs! What is it they say? I need a vacation from my vacation!
