Time……

Okay, who stole the summer?

I was walking Emily back up to her house tonight and the air was cool and crisp and as the sun was setting, I noticed bright red leaves had fallen under my feet.

It’s Autumn. It’s really Autumn, and soon the winds will blow and the snow will fall and it will be WINTER!

When I was a little girl I remember thinking that each day was an eternity long. Each year, between birthdays seemed endless. I thought I would never grow up, never have a drivers license or get married and have children. I was going to be forever in first grade!

The time did pass and little by little these things all happened. I got my license, got married, had 2 beautiful children, and the days passed me by. Still, back in my twenties I felt that time was still going rather slowly.

Then one day I woke up and bam, I’m 49 years old! The year between 49 and 50 has flown by and soon it’s going to be winter and I’ll be 50!

So what happened? Does the world just start to spin faster the older you get?

Meanwhile, as I contemplate the time and space continuum, I remind you all once again that we leave tomorrow for the German Dog Show, also known as a Zuchtschau.

Sept. 23 002

Anneliese is packed and ready to go. I’ll be writing on Saturday night to report in on how things went.

  1. At least you HAD a summer! We had winter, followed by very wet spring, more very wet-ness and now autumn is here. Not that I mind, I like autumn. As long as it doesn’t rain!!! (Good luck at the show)

  2. I know just what you mean. Time tends to move faster and faster the older we get that why we have to enjoy every minute. Good luck at the dog show, we’ll be waiting to hear. Love YOU, Mel

  3. I also think time flies by at this point. The days seem to blend so quickly into months, that it is hard to keep track sometimes.

Hope your drive to the dog show goes well. I am eating breakfast in the office, but will give you a call in a few.

    Love you lots,
    Mandy

  4. I can’t wait to see you tomorrow at the Zuchschau. Wishing Anneliese an excellent score just like Arnie got last year! Dachsiehugs, Lynn and slurps from Claudius

  5. Fall is great – fresh crispy air – I do agree and you know what: the best time and age is what you have right now – and that goes for the season too!

Wishing you a great end to your week 🙂

  6. Time is on your side my dear, its really not so bad. Fall is just early this year. We are keeping our fingers crossed for you, good luck at the show!

  7. I so know the feeling since I’m soon to be 49 and next year 50. It sounds like a mile stone….

Good luck x millions with the dog show, she look good in that photo!!!

  8. *SMACK* – knock you right upside your little punkin’ head woman! I’m still clinging to Summer and you go and mention the “S” word??? I won’t even buy a MUM and you’re talking WINTER??? Are you CRAZY??? It must be the age! 49 was a hard year for me too! 50 is MUCH better!!! GRAB it Maribeth! Hold it to your bosom and LOVE it Maribeth! CHERISH it! FABULOUS FIFTY! Yes indeed! And you’re going into it — probably at your GOAL weight!!! Whoooooooo hoooooooo!
