Autumn In New Hampshire

The day dawned bright, and far too early, as both Hubby and I went in for our bi-yearly blood work. We will find out on Monday the results, but I am not expecting anything too dramatic or exciting.

After this, we came home where we could finally enjoy some coffee and breakfast. Have you ever noticed how thirsty and hungry you can get when you know that you can’t eat? I swear it is the power of suggestion, but today my mouth felt like cotton, it was so dry.

I went around the yard later on in the day, as it was just a picture perfect Autumn day.

I looked across the lake and saw this breathtaking scene.

I’ve also been intrigued by the leaves on the lawn. In the afternoon the light hits them and they seem to dance!

Late in the day I noticed my head began to feel all stuffed up and I was coughing and sneezing. I think I have a small cold. I refuse to give into this, but I will try to get a little more rest.

I also made reservations today to go on the foliage train when my sister comes up here next weekend. I think by then we will will be at the peak of our Autumn colors up here and the ride will be a lovely one.

  1. Oh so beautiful!!! That one photo you have with the lone red maple leaf is just astoundingly gorgeous…so vivid…just perfect for the season. You can’t beat the Northeast USA for the Autumn beauty!

  2. Lovely leaves. I hope you feel better. Drink tea and get well quick! Can’t wait for our visit!!! Love YOU, Mel

  3. Breathtaking? Absolutely!!! Do you have a touch of Fall allergies maybe? After being outside today? I almost always get a cold when the leaves start to change – found out I’m allergic to OAK! SO far this year I’m okay… *knocks wood*

That train ride sounds like it will really be fun! Such a perfect time of year for it!

  4. See ! you sneeze that’s all the fault of automn !! The leaves here start to get colors too and when the sun is shining it is supposed to be beautiful ! lol ! I AM an anti automner (if that exists !)

  5. I’m sure your little cold might be related to your flu shot. A lot of times when people get those, they get just a little bit sick….

    Have a great day!
    Love you,
    Mandy

  6. Wow! That’s some astounding view you had there. I personally loved the photo of the maple leaf… it does seem to dance doesn’t it? And you captured it perfectly! I hope you feel better soon, remember to drink plenty of fluids! 🙂

  7. Great colors. I just love fall. I have been out photo hunting for fall pictures as well today. It’s lovely here as well. Glad you are enjoying the season!

  8. I hope your cold has got better by now. Gorgeous fall photos!

We were out too, enjoying the trees and leaves dance in the sun. We finally got to see the sun a bit and it was gorgeous to see the colors in the sunlight.

I wanna come with you on that foliage train ride! You gotta report back with lots of photos for us!
