This & That Thursday

I dutifully went to Weight Watchers today, but I knew before I even went, that it was not going to be a good week, and it wasn’t. I didn’t gain weight. I just didn’t lose anything. So close to my goal…..and yet…..so far!

Totally unfair!!!

After class I trekked over to my General Practitioner’s Office to get the lab slips for my blood work tomorrow. I arrived and found that they’d moved. No one told me. I read the directions on the door and off I went. It didn’t take me long and before long I’d found the new office.

Truly amazing since my sense of direction is not always the best!

As I drove home along the back roads of New Hampshire I appreciated the colorful trees and clear air. The humidity is down and the visibility is wonderful. I could see the mountains so well with all their painted brightness.

It was really splendid!

Since I was full of Autumn wonder, I arrived home in a fairly good mood, despite the fact that I was a bit depressed about Weight Watchers, and decided to wash floors. With 4 dogs and a summer of nothing but terrible wet weather, I would wash the floor and it would immediately get dirty. I am thinking that I may actually keep that wonderful lemon scent on the floors for a few days, as we have no rain forecast!

I love clean floors!

My sister and her husband are coming up in a week for a visit and to celebrate my birthday with me just a little early. That will be so nice. We’re not sure yet if we will do a ride on the Hobo Railroad or the Mount Washington Cruise ship, but I’m thinking a train ride would be fun!

It’ll be so nice to spend time with Mel & Ron!

  1. Well, I don’t suppose I’ve ever tried a diet, since for the most part, I’ve eaten healthily, despite the potbelly I have almost always had. But, this past summer when I became deathly sick, the fat fell away. I wouldn’t recommend that particular method to anyone, but it certainly worked. Good luck with the Weight Watchers, but keep in mind, it isn’t so much about the weight, but the fattening and sugary foods. As long as you moderate those, a little bit of a flabby tummy is perfectly fine as long as it’s healthy. That’s my two cents. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  2. We can’t wait for our visit! Ron’s wanting the train ride! I hope that works out, if not we can hike, visit the country store go shopping etc. I just can’t wait!!!! Love YOU, Mel

  3. OH! Do you live close to Mount Washington? Roomie and I and the dogs are considering a trip there this weekend for some leaf action..when are you two coming to Boston again? ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Meribeth, I think usually by the time you get down to where you are it takes a little longer to notice the weight coming off. Sometimes instead of taking 7 days to lose .5 pounds it starts taking 10. So, you don’t actually see it until the next week. I bet NEXT week you’ll have loss!

My floors are clean today too — for a minute!

Enjoy your time with your sister!

  5. My folks said it’s gorgeous up there now. They were out on the boat yesterday and my mom took dozens of photos.

PS Yes, the trees were in NH – Cannon Mtn to be precise.

  6. Every day gives us new challenges.
Then it’s heavenly good the Nature gives us all the colors there is, when the Sun turns South and leave us living North with a reminder of our short Summertime.

I’ve read this post several times. It tell’s a lot – reading between the lines. Maybe something only a few of us can understand.

    Charming photo
a big hug to the both of you pictured.

    best wishes for the weekend
