The day was bright, with blue skies and cold winds. Somehow it helped to energize me and get me out to do the shopping and the visiting that I’d wanted to do.
I took Anneliese with me, as she has become almost my “Siamese twin”. Whenever I get my coat on to go out, I find Anneliese sitting at the door waiting for me. It’s a nice change from the shaking little girl that she was before her trip across the Atlantic to meet Isegrim.
We went to the Post Office, and mailed my application to Weight Watchers. Anneliese was also able to bewitch a few people there with her adorable ‘come hither’ look! Oh those big brown eyes of hers, just make people go weak in the knees!
Then I was off to the grocery store to pick up a few things. I ran into a woman I know and her two children. Needless to say, they also got to visit with Anneliese.
My last stop before I got home was at a craftsman’s shop where they sell fine jewelry, pottery and other hand made items, to see my friends, who also love dogs. They’ve been following Anneliese and her foreign love affair and they were happy to see pictures of Isegrim and to see Anneliese. They were thrilled that she has become more confident and no longer shakes with worry.
Yes, Anneliese sure has grown up since her trip to Germany!
I came home and got a call from my sister that my father has been placed in Hospice Care. It’s a blessing, really and now I pray that the good Lord will ease his pain and bring him home.
Today is Friday the 13th. Somehow, it just doesn’t worry me at all. Probably because I am starting to think about life in different terms. I don’t believe in curses or spooky things. Life is life. It’s as good as you make it, and the end? Well, who knows.
I don’t believe in Friday the 13th either. 😉
In fact, it was always a very good day for me. So let’s see what this one will bring.
It’s good that your father is in Hospice Care now. They exactly know how to look after him and what to do for him. I hope he will have as less pain as possible in his last time around.
I’m sorry your father isn’t doing well. I hope knowing that his pain is being managed brings you some peace. ((hug))
The 13th is a lucky number in our family – both of my kids have their birthdays on the thirteenth of the month. Itai’s was even on a Friday the 13th this year (Feb).
I pray your father will be comfortable and at peace until he goes home to his reward, and that you will be comforted when his time comes.
We only have about another week till we find out if Anneliese is preggo for sure, right?
Nope Friday 13th doesn’t do a thing for me either. Just another day of the week/year.
I pray the Lord takes your Dad soon. Hospice is no fun for anyone… but it does give us time to come to terms. It sounds like you are already there. I’ll pray for the rest of your family too.
Anneliese has just become a little social butterfly!
I can’t believe he’s passing so soon after Dad…he’ll sure have a crowd greeting him, won’t he?!
It seems you’ve done some growing up lately, too, eh?
Hi Mom,
Yes, in some ways sorry to hear that he is in Hospice, but as you said, this is probably for the best at this point.
Today is my last day here; I really can’t believe it! The week has flown by. I still feel like I have so much left to do, but by the end of the day, will need to let it go!
Love you lots, and looking forward to doing some shopping Monday!
xo,
Mandy
Thanks for the good news – I believe Hospice is the best for everyone.
Friday 13th is just another day or at least one of those Fridays 🙂
Happy Weekend!
I’m glad that your father will have the blessing of his final days in hospice, they really do know how to take care of them well there.
Friday the 13th…hmmm missed that, it is now officially saturday the 14th here so it obviously wasn’t worth worrying about.
I understand about hospice as we had to make the same choice once, but I also know it is tough for you and your family and I am sorry for that. Nobody wants to see a loved one suffer, but its never easy to let them go. God Bless you, your dad and the rest of your family
I’m with you with all you say in this post! Actually, my sister claims that Friday the 13th is her lucky day when only positive things happens. For me, it’s like any other day.
