Cherries and Puppy Dogs

Ever get hit in the open eye with an under ripe cherry? Well those suckers are really hard and it hurt like heck! How did I get hit in the eye by an under ripe cherry, you might ask? Well, we were putting a net over our largest cherry tree to keep the birds from helping themselves as the cherries turn a delicious red and get sweet and juicy, and as I was helping to tug the net into place the green unripe cherry fell and hit me square on my eyeball! I have no ability to deal with pain and I state here and now, I want morphine! Of course that isn’t going to happen, so some Tylenol will have to do.

I had the puppies to the Vet’s today for their next set of shots. They all did well and everyone was amazed at how much they had grown in the last two weeks.

It was quite an adventure for them and they did just fine. Although they fussed on the way over, they slept on the way back. They even took a good nap once they got back home.

It amazes me to think that in a few short weeks I will kiss their little heads good-bye and send them on their way. Yeah, I’m sure going to miss these little guys. I have to say, they are truly wonderful, each and every one!

  1. It must have been the revenge of the birds that you put a net over the tree !
We arrived without any problems at the Garda Lake and I am already bored, it’s always the same, the only difference is that Son and Dil are also here. The weather is so and so I even had to buy a cardegan ! Tomorrow we are going to Venice, that will be a change at least !

  2. Good visit at the vets! They sure are growing! So cute!
Only my sister could get hit in the eyeball with a cherry!!! LOL! Love YOU, Mel

  3. OUCH!!! I’m thinking getting hit with pretty much ANYthing directly in the eyeball is going to NOT feel good! I’m also thinking it’s probably NOT morphine worthy – but I’m sure it IS uncomfortable – I hope it didn’t scratch your eye!

It’s sad to think that the puppies will be gone in just a few weeks… I don’t know how you’re going to do it!

  4. When do their owners come to pick them up? I imagine that will be really hard. I will miss just starting each work day by looking at puppy pictures!

    Have a great day!

    Love you lots,

    Mandy

  5. Oh man…I bet that cherry ordeal gave you pause along with the pain. Didn’t you have something happen to your other eye? Wear goggles next time, k. We usually have to put up bird net to keep them out of our tomatoes, but you probably have heard that story about how hot it is and no tomatoes so far.

Puppies are so adorable. They are nearly as big as their mom. 🙂

  6. Sorry to hear about your eye accident! But maybe you should make cherry liqueur – and use that instead of morphine? 😆

Very good to read that the puppies is doing so well!
