Here We Go Again

Today Greta began giving off “the scent” that makes Arnie crazy. He’s been following her everywhere, and tonight he is barking, whining, and fussing like crazy. What this me3ans is that he will be spending the night in his crate, in the guest room with the door closed. I’m afraid after this he will need to be isolated from her until after she has been bred and is past her heat. It’s sad, really. I think Arnie would make a good Daddy. Just not with his mother or sister!

The puppies are all doing well and between raindrops we raced them out and let them play in the back yard. I was going to go for a walk with Arnie, but ended up having to come back home because it started to rain and I was getting soaking wet. Arnie liked it, but me? Not so much!

Here is a picture of Baerbel and Ali.

And here are the two boys. Baron and Bogart.

Hubby drove me out to shop late in the morning and besides food for us, food or the dogs and a few toys, we also bought Baerbel a collar. She was the only one who needed one. I found this adorable chocolate brown one with pink polka dots! She looks so cute in it!

Tomorrow we are supposed to start drying out. I sure hope so. I really want to have the pups out more and take Arnie for a long walk to work off some of his frustration!

Such is the love life of dogs!

  1. They are so cute. Poor Arnie, bless his heart he is just wanting what nature intended, but not with a close relative. Would he make a good stud? I’m not sure what people with dogs call it. That is what people with horses call it.

Hope you dry out and hope it cools off here. The heat is like August already and no cool air for a good while yet.

  2. Just finally able to catch up today. You are really going to miss those sweet little ones. But at least you will have more to play with in the future. And Arnie, Greta, Annaliese and Fritz are too great for words. Interesting that school is finally over up there. Calbe begins kindergarten on 7/14 (year round school) and will be going to East Elem near us. Has finaaly opened after total rebuild following Hurrican Charley. Charlotte High will open in the fall. The nets for cherry trees look very ungainly. Are they as tough to put up as they appear>

  3. Let’s hope for a few nice dry days, but I think we are getting humidity instead of rain. I’ll take it! Love YOU, Mel

  4. You’re amazing!~ If I knew I had one in heat at this point I’d be locking HER away and saying NO MEN for you!!! You’re really going to do this AGAIN so soon??? LOL! I think you’re a glutton for punishment! Or at least sleep deprivation!
