Snow, Rain & Ribs

The day was long and full of snow, sleet and rain. When we got up we had about 5 inches of snow, so Hubby stayed home to clear our driveway and prepare the driveway for the rain to come.

The dogs thought this was wonderful, and the “helped” him quite a bit. In the end, the driveway was cleared and the four dogs and Hubby came into the house soaked to the skin.

Weight Watchers was canceled due to the bad roads, and I was disappointed. I knew I had done well this week and looked forward to weighing in! Oh well, there is always next week to get the official weigh in. Here at home it looked like I’d lost two pounds!

While Hubby was outside, I did what I like to do on days like this. I cooked. I made sure that Hubby ate healthy, filling meals, and this time when I cooked the baby back ribs, they came out just the way they should! Tender and delicious!

I also started a warm fire in the hearth that all three dachshunds lay in front of until they were dry. Fritz hid. He just doesn’t like fires.

I spent a little time clearing out my email folder. Suddenly everything is overloaded with SPAM. Now if the spam was interesting to me, it wouldn’t be so bad. Unfortunately my Spammers think that I am a guy and so I get all “those sort” of spam emails. Honestly, I had one addressed to “Dear Mr. Dackel Princess”!

Okay, I admit it. That one did make me laugh!

  1. I can´t believe how much snow you guys are getting! You much have cabin fever by now…. 🙂 (at least I would)
I´m having ribs today too. Hope they turn out as good as yours sound.

  2. Only Rain here. The ground is almost free of snow. I’d just like a brighter more cheerful day, some sun would be good. Love YOU, Mel

  3. I think you could lock me away with such a lot of snow ! Now we are almost March and snow is not allowed anymore ! If ever it snows here again I will get crazy !
today I have seen my first white shepherd dog ! He must have been 6 month old still half a puppy ! but real beautiful. Unfortunately I was in my car so I couldn’t stop and talk to the owner. But I looked up in Wikipedia, interesting informations and history !

  4. I love to cook, too, Maribeth, when I am homebound. :-)s

I love today’s picture, also. It is such an idyllic winter scene.

  5. Dear Mr. Dackel Princess, I understand your frustration about WW being canceled as you are in excellent form this week. Hehehe. Sorry to hear the weather is giving you all kinds of trouble. Clearing the driveway before it rains and freezes…hmmmm sounds like you will be in for a while.

  6. Ohhhhhhh Maribeth! I LOVE me some ribs! They’re not on my menu though… for awhile. They’ll be BACK though! That just sounds like a great combo… snow changing to rain (the way it OUGHTA be) and ribs. Mm!
