Autumn

The colors of Autumn are here and fading fast. They were not nearly as vibrant as some years, as we haven’t had a frost, but they are pretty none the less.

Across The Lake

This is the view from our house, which is nice, because today my eyes were bothering me and I didn’t feel like going out for a drive, but I did feel like enjoying the colors.

There are just a few apple trees left with apples, but the other fruit trees are bare, and their leaves are changing color to mostly a yellow color. A good wind will knock them down.

We have had a lot of apples, but this year was our biggest ever harvest for butternut squash! We had over 40 of them! For a woman who has been accused of having a black thumb and not being able to grow anything, thing years garden was my best ever!

I’ve noticed that Autumn has been mentioned in so many of my posts. I think, perhaps that is due to the fact that our Autumn has been so long.

What is your favorite part of Autumn?

  1. Colors are pretty! We have mostly dull rust colors here. I think the rain and hurricane did not help. Love YOU, Mel

  2. The colors are beautiful! We had a frost here in AR a couple of days ago. They say the dry summer we had is going to mess up the leaves changing as pretty as it normally does-boo!

  3. Good heavens. If this is a bad year for leaves, I wonder what it looks like in a good year!! It really looks fabulous to me. :-)s

  4. Wow! What a view! I didn´t know you could see the lake from your house. You are very lucky. The colors are stunning.
Any your black thumb sure changed into a green one!

  5. Autumn is my favorite and I talk about it a lot too. Our colors are not quite as vibrant either, I’m sure due to all the rain we’ve had. Still beautiful though! Your squash look fabulous-congratulations on turning your black thumb green : )
