Here is something I located. It is the birth certificate for my grandfather, Papa Fred. He was born in Germany, and came to the United States when he was just nine years old. He met my grandmother shortly after, as she was a friend of his sister, Katchen.
So here is his birth certificate, straight from Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany.
Note: I have since learned that this is a Baptismal Certificate and that next to my Great Grandfather’s name, August Prüssmann is his occupation. He was a coachman!
So cool 🙂 They even listed his father’s occupation!
I too noticed they listed Papa Fred’s father’s occupation: Kutscher = cabby or carriage driver or driver! I love how Germans keep records! 🙂
Yes, I have this too! Love YOU, Mel
