This is it, folks. On Saturday, Bernie is coming over to get together with Greta. Hopefully they will find themselves in a passionate embrace. Should I get out some scented candles and play some Sinatra for them?
I’m so nervous about it all. I know that must sound really strange, but from the time I brought Shubi home over 10 years ago, I have wanted to breed wire-haired dachshunds. Due to some technical difficulties I didn’t breed Shubi, but when I got Greta, I got her with the understanding that if she grew into a lovely lady, I would find her a husband and have beautiful babies.
Now here we are, and I’m as nervous as a 15 year old girl out on her first car date!
I’m planning a typical German meal for the people, while the pups get acquainted. I’m making Sauer Braten, red cabbage, and potato dumplings. Then a very typical American apple pie.
Keep your fingers crossed that it all goes well.
