I was sitting here on Tuesday morning thinking of my Greta. Yes, I was missing her, but I was also thinking I should write to her breeder and let him know that she lived for fourteen and a half wonderful years and had been a good mother dog and a wonderful companion. And I thanked him for breeding such a great dog.
My written German is even worse than my spoken German, (which is almost non-existent. I can order a beer and I can ask for a ladies room and I can also ask to be excused, but…), I asked my friend Uschi to translate my letter, and to clean it up for me. She did a fabulous job, and I sent it off to the breeder, with a picture of Greta and me that was taken a few years ago when both Greta and I were in our Prime!
Life has gone on for me, but I really do miss my Greta.
Last night I was sitting in my chair and Anneliese came up onto the chair and lay down. She let me know she wanted a belly rub, and while I was rubbing it, she started to talk to me just like Greta used to do. It struck me as being very odd because she had never done that before.
Oh, and the funniest thing happened today. Arnie and Lili chased a red squirrel up a tree. Oh, they carried on and on until the squirrel leapt from one tree to the next until he ran up a large tree and out of sight. I laughed and laughed and eventually Lili and Arnie came in and forgot all about the terrorist squirrel!
And I’m off to Weight Watchers. Looks like it will be another good week!
That is so nice that you will write to the breeder. You brought Greta from Germany?
That’s nice to inform your breeder ! At least Greta had a very good life. I caught up on all your posts now !
