Our Anniversary was full of surprises. This year I decided to become a true romantic and I had planned our “Anniversary Date” completely. When I called for reservations at The Woodshed I asked them to have a bottle of chilled champagne at our table. Hubby was pleasantly surprised and we toasted our 20 years together.

For our appetizers we ordered an artichoke dip for me, which was divine and Hubby got French Onion Soup, one of his favorite things to eat.
We talked and laughed and reminisced while we ate, looking back over the last 20 years with laughter and smiles.
Next came our tossed salads with blue cheese dressing. Crisp lettuce greens with a dressing that was equally yummy!
Then our dinners came. I must confess that this is not a meal you would find on any Weight Watchers menus! No I will probably burn in Hell for tonight’s indiscretion! LOL!!! Here is what we had:

We each had Prime Rib of Beef, with a Lobster Tail on top, a twice baked potato, mixed vegetables and horseradish. Also they served their own home-baked bread, which I did have some of, but managed to leave half of on the plate. I also did not eat all of my Prime Rib, and brought it home for a left over treat for Hubby.
As we sat drinking coffee my last surprise arrived, a small chocolate cake with butter-creme frosting and a drizzle of chocolate on the top. We each had a small piece and then we brought the rest home for the neighborhood kids.
It was a splendid celebration, made even more so by the little surprises that I’d planned for my sweetheart!!!
Happy Anniversary, Darling!!!
Hi Mari
The pictures are great. I love your blouse and the hair looks perfect. I don’t want to tell you how hungry your dinner is making me. I’ll just grab a WW mini bar and try not to think about steak and lobster!!! Congratulations on pulling off such a romantic 20th anniversary dinner!
Surprises are great! Glad you pulled it off; you both look happy 🙂
I mean on that occasion you just HAD to forget weight watchers, lol ! What a nice celebration ! I am organizing a little party on saturday for Mr. Gattino’s birthday. He doesn’t know anything I just fake to forget about his birthday, lol ! It will be quite a surprise. Our son is also coming from Amsterdam with his girlfriend.
You two look wonderful, what a nice anniversary dinner! Ours is on Jan 2nd and for the past 15 years it has taken place in the middle of our ski vacation so we wear turtlenecks and warm pants when we go out to dinner to celebrate 🙂
Mmmh, could I please have a piece of that chocolate cake? even though I am not in your neighborhood? and I am not a kid??
🙂
Happy Anniversary! Though you don’t look nearly old enough to have been married for that long!
Wonderful pictures and it looks like a lovely evening, some enchanted evening…. Nice there were some surprises too! You both look great and Happy! Love You!
You’re looking good – all the WW is doing you good 😀 Sounds like a very special dinner!! 🙂
How lovely of you to share this happy moment with your blog friend and I am so happy for you – the nicest, cutest and loveliest couple ever seen on the net!
Your really had a wonderful feast – looks and sounds delicious!
Diane and I would love to go with you to Woodshed one day 🙂
What a wonderful and romantic setting and meal for your celebration.
I love all the dishes, but I too would have left some of the Beef.
Starting with champagne – wow that’s great, and the apetizers, very French I think and absolutely delicious including the salad.
Then something I consider Ammerican, the Dinner I mean.
The chocolate cake could be from everywhere.
With other words: Fusion Food. I love to mix dishes from different parts of the World. And your selection show you are international in your mindset. That’s a great thing.
PS. You know what to do 5 years from now;))
OOOO MB – you two look totally fabulous. What a delightful celebration.
hugs,
linda

MMMMMMMM, Your supper sounded soooo good, made my mouth water.
And I have to say, you look soooo very young…hard to believe you have been married for 20 years already! You barely look 40!
Congrats to the two of you, one happy looking couple!
Very nice! You look lovely, so it is no wonder Hubby has such a big, happy smile. As for the calories, they don’t count on anniversaries. Happy Anniversary!
