It was one of those days that began with a hard frost and ended with dropping temperatures. Another frost is coming! The mid part of the day was mild, but not warm, thus reminding me that it is Autumn and winter is on it’s way.
The dogs were in their glory, especially Fritz who just lives for the cooler temperatures. He was outside all day basking in the glory of the pristine day.
Yesterday the three dachshunds were all outside playing when they found the same mound of smelly crap to roll in. They came in stinking to high, high heaven!
This required me to give all three of them baths. So into the sink they went, with warm water and shampoo. By the time we went to bed, they were dry and smelling like flowers!
Hubby spent the day painting the trim of the house and getting the outside ready for winter. He is doing a great job!
I changed my side bar picture today. The new picture was taken by my sister while she was here.
Tonight our friend and house sitter came over for dinner. We finalized our plans for the cruise and had a nice steak dinner. She visited with her favorite babies and we chatted until we were both ready to hit the hay!
I’m lucky to have Dori as she really loves my four babies and takes very good care of them.

The photo is really nice ! Very natural ! I remember our dog (completely white) a mixture with the size of a beagle loved to roll in cowpats ! She then was green and smelled “roses” !

I had a wonderful day too, I visited a roman site in the Ardennes, took beautiful pictures and ….. lost my camera ! I can’t find it anymore. That’s terrible not so for the camera but all these beautiful pictures ! I am soooo furious !

Yep! We had a hard frost this morning too! Jewl is loving the cooler weather too – as is Freedom. BUT… ALL 3 of my pets have HORRIBLE FLEAS this year! FIRST time they have EVER had fleas! Poor Jewl… 9 years old and never had a flea… she doesn’t know whats going on! And Kitty — HE doesn’t even go outside! He SURE never knew what a flea was! I had to take them all and get them dipped… and I think I’m going to have to take them again! We had to spray the carpets and furniture with the WORST smelling stuff! I think I’m going to get an exterminator in to bomb the place though… I just get the willies even THINKING about those stupid little critters in the house! And the grooming parlor told us EVERYBODY has them this year! (down here) Don’t know what it is … but they are horrid!
Aren’t house sitters wonderful? When you have so many pets, they really ARE the way to go! Well… for the pets – even if you only have ONE, they’re the way to go!!! LOL!
Oh, yeah, I know what you mean, I’ve known dogs that has had the “rolling behavour” – not mine thankfully – and it weren’t nice at all sometimes…. yuk.

I also noticed the new pic. Very nice, the slim new you!! Wonderful to have the dogs smelling like flowers, even if you may appreciate it more then they do. They must be wondering why you are taking thier ‘good’ smells away hehehe!

WOW, your getting the frosts, whilst we are getting the supressing heatwaves every now and then telling us that SUMMER is on the way!!! We had 35 yesterday and when I got home, and after I cooked dinner (Chow mien with red cabbage and noodles) we went and had a spa… How relaxing!
