I’m “Lifetime”

Today at Weight Watchers I got my “Lifetime” card. Basically this means that for the last six weeks I have been able to maintain my weight, and now I enter a new phase of maintaining my weight on a long term basis.

You know a year ago I looked like this:

Nov 17 051

But with hard work, and learning a new way to look at food, prepare it and portion it out, I met my goal and now I look like this:

dec 25 006

(Me with my daughter, Mandy)

I’ve set a few new goals for myself. I would like to firm up my body now and get in shape. Unfortunately the old body doesn’t respond at 50 the way it did at 20, but that’s okay. I think I’ll use the same philosophy to get in shape physically, that I did to lose the weight. “One Day At A Time”.

I think that in time I would like to go on and perhaps become a Weight Watchers leader. I would like to be at my goal weight for a little longer, but I think I have a lot I could offer to other people searching to control their weight.

But for tonight I’m enjoying the achievement of reaching “Lifetime” at Weight Watchers!

  1. Do what makes you happy and fulfilled. Congrats!! You would be a great leader and an role model to all.

  2. Wonderful! I am so proud of you and all you’ve worked so hard at over this past year. You look amazing! Love YOU, Mel

  3. Congrats Mom! You really have done so well, and I think you look fabulous!! You have taken years and years off your appearance, and I’m sure have added years health-wise! It would be interesting to compare our pics together from last Christmas vs this Christmas!

I also think you would make a great leader! You are so knowledgeable about foods, cooking, calories, balance, and I also think you are very kind and accepting in general. With all of these qualities, I think you would make a great leader. I also think it would be very rewarding for you!

    All my love,

    Mandy

  4. Congratulations Maribeth! You have done soooooo well! I think you would make an excellent leader too — but I do think you have a bit much on your plate right now to expand in that direction. You and Hubby are both in my prayers!

  5. Congratulations, Maribeth! You must be – and can be! – so proud of yourself!
I am sure you can do just as well with your “get in shape”-plan! Good Luck!

    How’s Hubby doing??

  6. Wow ! I can’t believe it ! so much ! Congratulations ! I do yoga to stay fit, not the spiritual one, but the soft gymnastic. It’s amazing how fit I feel now ! I had been so rusty ! I got a kick when a man helped me out of a bus ! I thought if I look so stiff when I get off a bus I have to do something. Now I jump out of the bus like a feather ! I also go swimming at least 3 times a week.

  7. Wow!!! I love the before and after pictures! Congratulations on reaching your goal. Get Hubby to take some bathing suit pictures of you now, and then again after a couple of months of exercise. With the determination that you’ve shown for losing weight, I’m sure that you will be just as committed to exercise.

  8. Congratulations!!! It must feel great!! Someday I hope to post my before and after pics….I have been practicing the Before pic for too long!!
You look awesome! Happy and glowing!!!

  9. Bravo to you! Wow! You look fantastic and at least ten years younger.
Having had a weight problem all of my life, I know how difficult it can be. WW is a great program and it certainly works. Sounds like you’d make a great leader, so I say, go for it!
    Keep up the good work.
