20 Pints and a Dackel On The Go

I was just sort of lazing around today, if you can call canning 20 pints of brandied peaches lazing, and enjoying the warm sunshine that seems to have settled into our area. It’s a little late for my poor garden, but I may still get a few tomatoes and eggplants out of my pots on the patio.

The dogs played, yes even Anneliese was up and running about today playing with her brother. It seems the Dackel Princess household is getting back on it’s feet after the most recent bout with raging dackel hormones!

Anneliese has taken over the little doggy bed, but trust me, that’s okay after her desire to hide from every one and every thing! It’s nice to have her back out with us again!

At this point I think I can safely say that we have canned enough peaches and peach jam for the next 12 months. We will be having Stanley Plums come in soon and I always enjoy making jam from them as well.

I will tell all my close family and friends now. For Christmas this year, expect food!

Monday morning Fritzi goes in for his yearly shots. I will take him even though he is truly a terror in the car. I think I will just roll down the window and let him get some air. He loves that!

Aside from that, this week is a work around the house week for me. I have a lot to do here at home, but no pressing engagements! Yay! I need a few days to regroup, do laundry and pay a few bills!

Happy Monday to you all, and have a great week ahead!

  1. Happy to read that your household is getting back to normal ! I don’t know what happened but your blog disappeared from my Google reader and I was wondering why you haven’t posted for such a long time. Now I had to catch up since the 19 August !! I put you in my reader again. I like your pictures in the kitchen, I can’t see anything on your nose !
Here it’s getting back to normal too, cat Lisa has to take 1 happy pill now (instead of 1/2) she had started to pee everywhere ! What a mess !!

  2. Hi Mom,
Glad to hear Anneliese is doing better, and sounds like a nice weekend. Mine seem to be always hectic and full, and I am certainly over-ready for a vacation….
Have a great day! Will give you a buzz tomorrow afternoon on my ride home to catch up!

    Love you,
    Mandy πŸ™‚

  3. I need a week just to CLEAN… but I don’t seem to get it! If I was a close member of your family I would be getting very excited about Christmas!!! I’m glad Annaliese is feeling better!

  4. Canning canning, I was just visiting Claudie and she was canning too. I am so envious! I don’t have any lovely fruits or vegetables in my garden to can. That is the price we pay for having a summer home I guess. Nobody to tend the garden so we just have perrenials. Sounds lovely. Hope Annaliese is over her mood swing πŸ˜‰
