Sunday Happenings

I spent Sunday catching up. I arrived home on Saturday to a mound of mail, bills and laundry. I put some laundry in and then started working on my mail.

I’d been waiting for documents to arrive from the Canine Ophthalmologist with Arnie and Anneliese’s eye reports. We had them in last week to have their eyes certified and I’d forgotten their AKC registration numbers. I’d called them in and while I was gone the paperwork arrived. Now I forward them off to the people who make out the certificates. In a couple of weeks I’ll receive their formal certificates.

I also worked on a letter to send off to a German breeder to see if I can bring Anneliese to her kennel to mate with one of her males. Once I am done, Hubby will translate it for me and then I can send it off.

Today Hubby called me after he went skiing. He was having a lot of problems with his old ski boots and had reluctantly stopped to look at new boots. I told him to go for it, and get properly fitted. It took some time, but he did and now he is the owner of a brand new pair of boots! Merry Christmas.

Everything is still hard and icy here in New Hampshire. This is our local TV station. They have reported many things about the ice storm, including a place where you can go and view pictures. Check it out!

Up where we are things are not as dire. Hubby was able to go skiing today (I needed some extra sleep) as well as work some of the ice out of the driveway when he returned. I really need to get out my ice walkers because when I took Anneliese out earlier I nearly fell on my bottom!

The day ended with a meal of steak, Röschti and rutabaga. Hubby really is happy I am home!

  1. Hi Mom,

I’m sorry I didn’t get back to you yesterday. M and I were grocery shopping when your text arrived, though I didn’t even look at my phone until much later!

M and I have finally talked about our schedule for Christmas day, and are wondering if it would be okay for us to plan to arrive at your house around 6 on Christmas night? We thought maybe we could do a dinner, exchange gifts, have a wee bit of wine, and then depending, either head home or spend the night. I will likely push more for heading home, so that we don’t have to leave the cats alone for 2 nights….

Does this sound okay to you?

Let me know what you think….

    Love you lots,

    Mandy

  2. ICE walkers??? I guess they don’t sell them down here! I never heard of them! Gonna go google! Hope you find a suitable mate for Anneliese! I can’t believe Hubby got his camera AND his ski boots BEFORE Christmas! You’re killin’ me!!!

  3. You almost sound as busy as we were last week!! Except, we did not have the ice to contend with, instead it was heat and rain! 43mm in 20 mins last Monday!

Thanks for the card we got yesterday… Now the timeline of years… I suspect I might know at least one, maybe two… Any hints? Clue, I do KNOW,/u> the middle number, suspect the first, but the last one has me stumped!!
