Do You, Fondue?

Monday night I didn’t feel like doing anything for dinner. I knew I had to do something, but frankly, cooking up a big meal just did not appeal to me. So, I looked in the fridge and tried to piece together a meal.

Hmmmm. Cheese, salads, meats…..Fondue!

So that got me wondering. Am I the only one who loves Fondue, or are there any other people out there who also enjoy this?

When Hubby and I were first married (and Hubby was still working for the Air Lines) we had a layover in London and he took me to The Swiss Pavilion for dinner. We enjoyed the classic cheese Fondue and I have been hooked, ever since.

I’ve had Fondue in London, in Zurich and now I make it myself. Anyplace you can melt cheese, and dip breads, meats and vegetable into it, is a great meal for me.

So, do you, Fondue?

  1. Yes, we do!! French style, the Swiss add starch to make it creamier, we like it better without. And when there is only a bit cheese left, we add one egg, some pieces of bread, stir… and enjoy!!

  2. I love Fondue. We’ve started a new tradition here and have done Fondue on New Year’s Eve the past couple of years. It’s a fun relaxing way to welcome in the new year. I also love sliced green apples in the cheese fondue…a good combination.

  3. I do it a lot especially when it is cold and I am lazy (as usual when it comes to cooking, lol) I buy it ready there are several brands and just let it melt in the microwave ! with a nice salad it’s the perfect meal ! I always have it in my fridge in case … We both love it !

  4. I love fondue! I don’t nearly do it often enough. Also, you can make fondue with vegetable broth… it’s healthier than the cheese and grease options and very good, too!
