Wonderful…A Shower!

Wednesday found me reveling in my first shower since the surgery! I carefully put press and seal plastic wrap on the incision sites and then in a slow flowing shower, washed my hair and just enjoyed the feeling of running water on my body!

Afterward I put my hair back in pony tails and dressed, ready to start my day. The only thing was, I felt really tired!

My nose is doing better. I think there is less redness and swelling today. I just will be happy when they can finish up my nose and I can start looking a little more normal.

You see, just before the next surgery I’ll be going to my niece’s wedding. Oh how I am dreading being out in public looking like this. My sister and I were joking around, talking about me getting one of those wild hats like the Royals wear at their weddings in England.

The biggest thing in the next few weeks is to keep it clean, germ and infection free, so I can get in there for the next surgery.

Perhaps I should just pretend that all the stares mean that I look marvelous! A true thing of beauty! lol!

  1. Hi Maribeth….have come visiting from the Friday Fill-ins blog (thanks for those fill ins last week too). I’m SO with you about the bliss of a shower after surgery means you cant – who knew that water could feel so good!! Don’t stress about your nose at the wedding: it will be a glorious day and its more important that you can be there than what everyone thinks about your nose. My Mum would say sell tickets for a look if peopl are THAT rude they have to stare. Hope you have a great day, and pleased to hear you’re on the mend.

  2. I bet that shower felt, oh, so GOOD! Happy to hear that you’re continuing to heal well! All of this will be behind you before you know it! Have a BLESSED Easter!

  3. By the wedding, the redness will be gone. Check with your doctor…I was able to put makeup over the scar once the stitches were out. It is amazing how much a little makeup can hide. Not that you need it, but I understand being a little self-conscious about a scar on your face. If not, fascinators are in, especially those with the little veils on them. 😉

  4. I suppose that everybody at the wedding knows about your surgery, so just let them look, they won’t look twice ! Otherwise you have to wear a burka !
