My Meltdown

Yesterday it was Hubby. Today it was me.

All was going well. The day dawned bright and the cool crisp Autumn air felt wonderful on my skin as I walked the pups in the yard. Yes, it was going to be a beautiful day.

We shopped, I found a great watch, got all the dog food that we will need for the next month, picked up the mail and even grabbed a bite to eat.

Yes, the day was going along so well.

I was starting to cook dinner, when Hubby mentioned that his mail program wasn’t working. I went over and tried to fix it quickly, but my usual computer skills failed me. In frustration I called our service provider, who walked me through fixing Hubby’s machine.

Great!

Then I hung up the phone, and while I was trying to fix dinner, I went to fix my own machine and I couldn’t do it. I knew I should be able to, after all, I had just done it on Hubby’s machine, but it looked different!

I went back and forth between the kitchen and the family room trying to fix my computer, with the clock ticking down towards the time when my dinner would be done.

The tension mounted and I thought I would go absolutely crazy, and then I saw it. The little menu that would lead me to salvation!

With three minutes and 29 seconds to go, until my dinner timer went off, I had fixed my computer problem and gotten my email up and running again!

Somehow, tonight’s Lobster and corn on the cob tasted even better!

  1. I think timing is the most difficult task while cooking!!
Your dinner sounds delicious, you are truly a gourmet cook!
And now I am packing my warm coat as we are flying to Hamburg in good “cold” Germany for a couple of days.

  2. Your such a clever girl and I admire you for not giving up – you work well under pressure I can tell 🙂

Hmmmmm and Lobster – one of my favorite – bet it tasted good!

  3. e-Mail fixing and Lobster cooking at the same time. I’m impressed.
I wonder what was the cause of your e-mail problems.
I have problems with my browsers: i.e: Firefox does after a certain amount of page shifts, not show pictures.
IE, will also after some page shifts, simply stop. Does not answer.
So I have to restart. Urrggg.

  4. I get crazy too when something doesn’t work and it was only a little thing that I had overlooked, lol ! I also had to laugh about your hearing aid story, Mr. Gattino always “forget” them but he does it on purpose. He tells me that everybody is speaking so loud when he wears it. That he is shouting at me instead of speaking normal doesn’t bother him at all !
Here in Europe we don’t celebrate Halloween except in the UK and Ireland. So I enjoy my virtual Halloween and found it crazy what kind of stuff is sold or baked for Halloween !

  5. Great done. Oh, I just hate when something isn’t working. I usually fix it, but I think it’s such a wasted time!

You look stunning in your Halloween outfit at the Lifecruiser Party!!! All the ghauls whispered something about that too…..

Here, have some more of the Doom Pee’rignon and please order your Dinner Sinner in time, because I suspect some heavy lines for that.

    Cheers 😛
