Recipes have been pulled out and lists have been made for tomorrow’s grand foray to the grocery store. There, I will hunt down and capture the great American 20 pound turkey! On Wednesday I have a full day of baking planned. I cannot even begin to say how excited I am.
You see, although many people love Christmas best, or Easter best or even Halloween best, for me it’s Thanksgiving! All of my life I have lived for Thanksgiving.
I love the food, the smells, the laughter and most of all the sharing.
Yes, the sharing of the food, smells and the laughter!
So tomorrow starts the countdown to our Thanksgiving feast. My cousin Janet, her brother and my Uncle arrive Thanksgiving morning. So many of my best and happiest Thanksgivings have been spent with them, so I am really happy they are coming.
We’ll also be having Emily’s family, and our friends L&B. Everyone is bringing something to contribute and I think this makes it even better!
So what are everyone’s plans for Turkey Day?
I’ll have dinner with my family, but what I am looking forward to most is the Tgiving I’ll have on Sat with my friends!

Sounds like you have a wonderful time planned! Adam and I are going to my parents and bringing some side dishes and desserts. I am so looking forward to it and especially to the long weekend around it before the insanity of the christmas shopping begins!
I’m leaving in a little while to go to Nashville to have dinner with my siblings. We haven’t been together totally sinc 1992 when my mom died. I’m so looking forward to it…Everyone is cooking something me included. That’s why I’m leaving early so I can cook it there..

Hubby and I will be alone for lunch on thurs, so we’re not making turkey, just a little chicken with the traditional stuffing/side dishes. But we’re going over our best friend’s house for dinner, so it’s going to be fun! I can’t wait! I really LOVE Thanksgiving!!! I’m from Italy and every Christmas we go visit my family there (I have a HUGE family in Italy, so going there is a must for us!), so Thanksgiving for us is our “American Christmas”, a chance to decorate our house and celebrate here. We already have decorated everything last weekend (I know, we’re nuts! :)) and now I just can’t wait for Thursday!

We already did it this weekend … 10 1/2 pound turkey darn near filled my tiny little german oven, so we had to wing-it with everything else on the stove-top.
