Bee-Yew-Tee-Full!!

Today after I got done having my blood taken for tests at the hospital, I treated myself to a morning at the beauty shop. Nails were done, hair was (ahem) given a second youth, and my bangs were trimmed.

While I was getting my hair washed I closed my eyes and thought how glorious it felt to get pampered this way. It made me feel warm inside and made me smile. I really look forward to these monthly trips to see Margarita. She just makes my whole day. I feel so spoiled and relaxed and wonderful.

Once I came home, looking like one of “Charlie’s Angels”, I got to work packing away our Christmas decorations. Emily helped and in short order, we had it packed and put away in our attic.

With my laptop gone I am spending time in the office. We have left the gate open and the puppies are having a great time running up and down the hallway!

Oh what fun!

The diet is going well. Perhaps I shouldn’t call it a diet, but a lifestyle change. I read a bit in the afternoon and discovered things that I like and how they’re really not too bad as far as points go.

I can do this!

Today I ate:
Breakfast
1 cup of cream of wheat cereal
1/2 cup milk

Lunch

A vegetable and cheese omelet (which was really good!)

Snack
Large orange (yum!)

Dinner
1 cup of fresh cooked beets
12 scallops tossed in a stir fry of vegetables
1 cup of pasta

I still have points to use before bed and I think I will have a nice cup of tea with some milk in it. That will use up some more points. Yes, I need to grocery shop so I can get some things in the house that will be healthy for me to eat without sinking the diet ship.

  1. I love to go to the beauty shop too and get myself pampered, lol ! Usually I do it every 6 weeks then I have to have my hair cut. When you wear it short as I do, it is important to always have a good cut.

Today we celebrate Three Kings Day in Belgium. So come to my blog and have a piece of the Galette !

  3. Ah – I had blood work done just the other day, too – preparatory to a general physical. Is that why you had yours done, MB?

  4. So I just had the best treat at Starbucks, a “skinny cinnamon latte”, which is way better than the “full calorie ones”. It’s made with steamed skim milk and the syrup is sugar free, but I think made with Splenda, because it doesn’t have “that” taste. Perfect for any life style change!

  5. Oh, that sounded so nice. I need a week at a spa or something after this passed year. Phew.

I’m glad that the diet seem to go really well for you. The dishes sounds quite alright actually.

  6. Not sure if you have them there, but Rice Crackers (for a savoury hit) are quite good with points, I think 5-6 for either 1 or 2 points…

Also, WW have Choc Chip Cookies, 2 for 1.5 points for those sweet hits with coffee/tea!
