Welcome

What happens when you arrive at home? Does anyone jump to greet you? Do tails wag? Is there a significant other who smiles in a way that says, “welcome”?

I was thinking about this today. I was in the office (my laptop is in Tennessee for repair, but that’s all I know, thus I am chained to the desktop) with the dogs, when all of a sudden they jumped up and ran down the hall to the kitchen. Barking ensued and I got up to see what was happening.

As Hubby was still skiing, I knew it couldn’t be him, so I was interested to see if a squirrel had invaded our yard and caused the commotion.

Then I saw Emily coming down the hill through the snow and I knew that they were “waiting for her”! So, I opened the door and let them go to greet her.

Many people will go through their whole lives and not experience this thrill! Imagine, a little face, a wagging tail, a smile? How lucky we are when we have this.

So when Hubby came home today I greeted him with a special smile and a big hug. I am so glad that he shares my life.

I am a lucky lady!

On the diet front, we finally went grocery shopping. I was able to buy some things that will make my diet go a bit easier. Like Weight Watchers yogurt with a point value of 1! I also got some treats with point values of 1 or 2.

Breakfast
Cream of wheat
1/2 cup skim milk
1/2 a grapefruit

Lunch
Tuna sandwich on wheat bread
small salad with 2 tbs dressing

Snack
Weight Watchers chocolate mousse (yum!)

Dinner
Sauteed chicken with onions and peppers
1/2 cup boiled potatoes
Spinach

I’m sure I shall devour another little yummy before bed, but you never know.

  1. Aww, what great shots!!!
Greatly appreciated warm welcome! During my teen years I remember coming home to an empty house as my mom was a working lady and she picked up my 2 younger siblings from their school. Never liked it, and I am glad I could enjoy the luxury of staying home since my son was 5 yo to hug him and kiss him after school and hear everything (or what he was willing to tell me!) about his day. It’s a precious bond and lovely memories.

  2. Oh, yes, I know that thrill! It’s simply wonderful! It’s a pity that not all people get to know this feeling.

Pets really have a honest way of telling their love 🙂

Oh, I’d love to have some of he chocolate mousse thanks…

  3. Really cute shots there … I really like the way photo #2 caught both ears up in the air, sort of like a mini-reindeer!

Happy New Year to you and your family (and a belated but heartfelt Merry Christmas)

  4. That first pic is amazing, as at first, I thought there was a mini Polar Bear! The white dog’s tail, with a closer look, is sort of hidden making it look like it was a Polar Bear…. How funny!

When we arrive home, our little white cat comes bounding down the path, jumps the gate and runs to the car door… She really is almost human! And Macc the Greyhound, will be awaiting at the back door, sitting and almost crying to come in with his tail wagging!!!

  5. what great pictures…I’m sure my girls would love to do the same with such special pups.
Love your pictures…I on the other hand have quite the blogging pics today to share….I am a good mom, honest I am…his hair is no reflection on me as a person…hee hee!! Oh and he too, he’s a good boy…he really is. Don’t be afraid!
